We generally recommend trying raw sera in your application before opting for purification, as raw sera often perform exceptionally well, saving you both time and expense. However, if purification is necessary, we provide two main options: affinity purification and protein A/protein G purification.



Affinity purification can be conducted against either peptide or protein antigens. For peptide antibodies, unbound peptide (not conjugated) should be used, while for protein antibodies, pure protein is preferred. Typically, 2 to 5mg of peptide or protein should be reserved for the affinity column. In cases where pure antigen is not available, protein A or protein G purification can be utilized as an alternative.

As an added benefit, the affinity columns we utilize are reusable for several rounds of purification. Upon completion of a purification project, we provide you with the affinity column used so that you can continue purifying more antibody independently.
